Studioviv: 850 websites moved to Matreon, and up to 10x faster

Studioviv is a web development and creative agency that manages around 850 websites and more than 1,000 domain names for its clients. They register the domain names themselves; the websites were hosted at a large Dutch hosting provider for years.

At first they were happy there, with direct contact with support. In late 2025 and early 2026 that changed. Support staff lacked technical knowledge, and issues with managed services sometimes went unresolved for days or even weeks. For an agency whose clients expect their website to just work, that is untenable.

An employee of Studioviv already knew us and asked for our help a few times when they got stuck. We gave that help free of charge, before Studioviv had even become a customer.

In early 2026 we did an intake with Studioviv. After that, the decision was quickly made: everything had to move. In three weeks we set up two large Cloud VPSs for their largest clients, with CloudLinux, DirectAdmin, Installatron, Imunify360 and LiteSpeed Web Server. All smaller clients moved to our Flex reseller hosting platform. We helped directly with moving all their websites. All their domain names now point to our high-availability nameserver infrastructure as well.

We did more than just hosting. On their largest websites we tracked down slow database queries and WordPress plugins, and removed inefficiencies such as pages that were loaded twice. We advised on setting up Cloudflare so that files are really served from its cache. And we advised on their phone system, which we eventually overhauled completely: their VoIP now runs on 3CX, on a Cloud VPS of its own, hosted and managed by us.

In October 2026 a third VPS was added, dedicated entirely to a large regional news site of Studioviv's with between 30,000 and 100,000 unique visitors a day.

All of Studioviv's websites are noticeably faster: pages render 2 to 10 times faster. All of their roughly 850 websites now run with us: the largest on three dedicated Cloud VPSs, the rest on our reseller platform. A fourth Cloud VPS runs their VoIP platform.

What Studioviv values most is direct contact with technical people who know their services inside out. When something goes wrong, they get a clear and honest answer. And their clients run on the same professional software that large hosting companies use.
